Border Security & Public Safety
Border security and public safety are Sheriff Louderback’s top concerns. As a veteran of the United States military, with a career in law enforcement, he has defended his community from threats both foreign and domestic for over 40 years.
Sheriff Louderback is one of America’s best-known lawmen, regularly appearing on Fox News, Newsmax, and various radio stations nationwide. He uses these platforms to be a voice for Texans and to tirelessly advocate for finally and totally securing our porous southern border.
President Donald J. Trump relied on Sheriff Louderback as one of his southwest border policy advisors. In fact, the Sheriff met with President Trump at the White House over a dozen times in one year to provide him with solutions to the border crisis caused by President Obama. He was honored to be invited and attended President Trump’s signing of the First Step Act and the Declaration of the Border Invasion.
Sheriff Louderback led the expansion of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s 287 (g) program into 16 Texas counties, the largest expansion in the nation. Thanks to the Sheriff’s efforts, local law enforcement officers can now effectively collaborate with the federal government to enforce immigration laws.
For his dedicated service to our nation, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security awarded him the prestigious Service to the Homeland Award.
After federal law changed regarding legal agricultural hemp, Sheriff Louderback served on the first-ever Hemp Advisory Board to assist Texas Commissioner of Agriculture Sid Miller on implementing policies and controls to allow for the legal growth, harvest, and production of hemp. This was a massive and urgent undertaking, and the Sheriff’s work resulted in strong regulations to prevent the production and distribution of illegal hemp in Texas.
The Sheriff is a founding member and the current Executive Director of the Texas Sheriff’s Regional Alliance, a member of the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Border Coalition, and the Chair of the Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee of the Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission.
Property Taxes
The Texas Legislature has kicked the can down the road on property taxes for too long. Texas is one of the highest-taxed states in the country when it comes to our property taxes. Sheriff Louderback supports a plan that increases state funding to education to reduce the burden on local taxpayers.
Education
Sheriff Louderback is a Distinguished Alumni of Palacios High School in Matagorda County. He is a proud supporter of our local public schools and will fight to ensure they are fully funded and to reduce burdensome unfunded mandates. Good, strong local schools – pillars of our community – are built and maintained by empowering parents, students, and teachers alike.
School Choice
I’m a strong supporter of our public schools and know we must keep them vibrant and fully funded because they are the life blood of our communities. I’m also a strong supporter of parental choice in education. I always have been. Parents must have the right to choose the best education option for their children whether that be a public, charter, private, or religious school with the money following the child. The days of a one-size-fits-all education system are long gone.
As State Representative, I will strongly support Governor Greg Abbott’s parental school choice plan because our kids deserve better. Texas deserves better!
Defeating Woke Culture
The mind-virus of “wokeness” is spreading all over this country, and has even reached us here in rural Texas. Sheriff Louderback will fight to restore simple common sense!
With three daughters of his own, he is a strong supporter of girls’ and women’s sports and of protecting their spaces from the radical trans agenda.
He also applauds the Texas Legislature for passing laws to protect our kids from exposure to pornography in schools and everywhere else, but there is more that must be done.
Sheriff Louderback believes in American Exceptionalism and will also fight to stop any and all efforts to propagandize children to hate their own country or its heritage of freedom.
Second Amendment
As a Lifetime Member of both the NRA (National Rifle Association) and TSRA (Texas State Rifle Association), Sheriff Louderback is a fierce defender of our Second Amendment rights. He has been a License to Carry instructor since 1995 and has been a federally-licensed firearms dealer since 1978. He will always fight for Texans’ God-given right to self-defense.
Life
The Right to Life is the most sacred right we have, and that extends to the precious preborn babies in the womb. Sheriff Louderback is disgusted by the vile, radical abortion policies becoming state law in places like New York and California that allow for the barbaric mutilation and genocide of innocent infants up to birth! He will always defend the unborn here in Texas, and he prays God will intervene with policy makers everywhere to save the lives of these defenseless babies.
